IMMERSION

Spitalfields Festival

6pm, Thursday 4th June

Following sell out tours from previous Spitalfields Festivals our tour profiles the Jewish community of the East End. They may no longer live there but the streets and buildings still evoke memories of synagogues, schools and soup kitchens. Leisure too with Yiddish theatre and the 'Vapour Baths'. We end with a visit to the hidden gem of Sandys Row Synagogue. Remodelled within an 18th century Huguenot chapel for the early Dutch Jewish community this synagogue, founded in 1854, is one of the oldest in London.
